Making of a ceiling lamp starts with
making of prisms. The prisms are made from bars of high quality crystals. The
bars are melted in glass furnace and the melted part is molded into exciting
prism shapes. The molded part is cut from the bar and kept in sand for cooling.
Sand prevents the glass from
cracking on cooling. When the raw prisms are cooled, they are taken out from
sand for finishing. First of all the excess glass is removed from the prisms.
Now the pieces are ready to be finished. They are polished to highest finish and
then each piece is checked to determine its quality and usability.
A crystal chandelier can only be made with hands and those, who claim to make it with machines, can only make copies of the handmade designs. An artisan can think of a design and give it a shape using his creativity, experience and skill but a machine can only give good technical results.
