Idea behind designing small size light fixtures is to expand the design of a big size light. A massive ceiling lamp placed in the center of an expansive living room or courtyard would wear a deserted look. It would be able to illuminate a limited area as its light won't cover the expansion of the room. But a large lamp supported by matching small lamps would be able to illuminate a large room.
